Mark's Answer: I have already said you should not talk about private things too quickly, like age and marriage. But you should also not delve into their religion or politics either. Those are topics that divide rather than unify people.

I suggest trying to talk about things you really like, such as music, sports, art, history, your school, food, general things. Allow that person to get to know you a little, maybe you find that you have a common interest. That is a good foundation for friendship to start.
